Sestroretsk Arsenal Mosin Nagant T-Shirt

Pulled straight from a Mosin-Nagant receiver, this design reproduces the ornate maker's mark of the Sestroretsk Arms Factory, one of Imperial Russia's oldest weapons manufacturers, dating back to Peter the Great. The old-orthography Cyrillic reads "Сестрорѣцкій Оружейный заводъ 1917 г." ("Sestroretsk Arms Factory, 1917"), stamped beneath the double-headed eagle of the Romanov crest, capped with the initial of the reigning tsar. That 1917 date makes it a rifle produced in the final, chaotic year of the empire itself, right as centuries of Romanov rule gave way to revolution. A piece of typography as much as firearms history, ornate in a way that has nothing to do with Soviet minimalism and everything to do with what came before it.
